MRA National Database of Laboratory Statistics

Our national database of laboratory statistics, developed in work with clients across the country, provides market, financial, operational, utilization, and productivity statistics for each section of the laboratory, as well as for the laboratory as a whole. From this data, we develop statistical guidelines for evaluating clinical laboratory operations. This database allows us to compare a laboratory's operation to a peer group which is similar in institutional type, scope and complexity of tests, and service level requirements. The database is exceptional in that all of the data is collated by medical technologist staff -- it is always counted in exactly the same way, to allow a true "apples to apples" comparison. Clients find the resulting analysis extremely helpful in identifying specific areas of the laboratory that are centers of excellence or in need of operational enhancement. The database also serves as an excellent tool for developing standards of performance and management goals.
